The Google Science Fair is a global, online competition that encourages students between the ages of 13 to 18 to use their imagination to create science experiments or engineering projects to compete for prizes, scholarships and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Through the fair, a generation of young scientists and engineers around the world are inspired to pursue STEM through undertaking practical projects with genuine impact.
EdComs worked with Google to design the competition; we advised Google on how to reach students, teachers and educational organisations to promote the Fair and supported entrants via an online forum. We provided educational expertise to the web development and design agency and wrote the teacher and student support resources. We have managed the judging since launch in 2011, assessing thousands of entries in 15 languages.
“EdComs has supported the Google Science Fair since it first launched in 2011 and their passion and enthusiasm for education is clear. The judging framework they created has helped us to identify some of the world’s most talented young scientists.”
