Changing young people’s perceptions of cricket

The ICC Cricket World Cup is coming to England and Wales in 2019.

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 presents an amazing opportunity to raise the profile of cricket and the World Cup in schools, engaging a wider audience of schools, teachers and pupils in the sport and demonstrating to the world that young people are at the heart of the game and the World Cup itself.

EVERFI worked with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 to develop the strategy for a new flagship education programme, and are developing a series of campaigns, competitions and ‘always on’ curriculum-linked content across the school year, culminating in a celebration of cricket across the summer term during the tournament.

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Schools Programme will change perceptions of the sport and help children to see that it can be a sport for them. It will be delivered through 8,000 primary schools and is a key pillar of the World Cup legacy plans to engage 1 million children.
